Sources of pollution of the Dnieper

All of us are dependent today on Dnieper water, 85% of Ukraine's people drinks from the Dnieper. And the river can not self-clean and renew itself.
Discharge of sewage, industrial effluents, narrowing the channel and deformation of the bottom appearance of microorganisms, change in the chemical composition of water.
Discharge of poorly sanitized sewage water from obsolete sewage treatment equipment.
Organization of garbage dumps along the shoreline of the great river.
The construction of the cascade of the Dnieper hydroelectric power stations leads to a gradual swamping of the river, slowing the water exchange.
A large number of sewage falls from the adjacent roads and from non-cleanable sewage canals of cities. During precipitation in the form of rain and meltwater from snow with particles of petroleum products.
In the summer hot season on the reservoirs of the Dnieper is actively multiplying staphylococcus aureus.
Another important source of pollution of the Dnieper is privatization, massive development of the shores, which leads to the destruction of the shores. Deforestation of ancient trees, destruction of spawning grounds of fish, artificial embankments modifying the channel, leading to the destruction of shores.
Artificially created reservoirs annually absorb parts of the coast and can lead to a catastrophic situation in the event of excessive precipitation and unpredictable flood. There is an unpredictable change in the ecosystem that affects its inhabitants and it is fishes.

Ways to preserve the ecosystem of the Dnieper.

Leading a civilized rest on the bank of the river without using it and its shore harm in the form of household garbage, which is already actively floating in the Dnieper and flooded almost all recreation areas.
All means of saving the Dnieper are good, it can be used in a complex. Someone can collect and process algae, someone - to control untreated discharges into the river (and punish for it!), and someone should switch to phosphate-free washing and washing agents.
